rolleyes.gif I'm wondering if anyone is interested in starting up an art club in the Southeastern Wisconsin area? We could visit museums, art galleries, etc.

Nancy,
Welcome to the forum. THat is a very nice idea. I don't think we have enough active members in your area to do that. Anyway, you never know, good luck.

Nancy, I love that Idea. I hope you find many members. Maybe if I start one where I live locally (I"ll be on vacation for a couple of weeks but can get started when I get back), we can share our adventures on the forum so everyone can benefit? I wish us both good luck!

Hi Nancy, this would be a nice idea, but why don't you start one online (with this site if the hosts do not mind). You can arrange a drawing class weekly and pick a subject (landscape, still-life e.t.c) all members post works done that week on an agreed day and we can all critique one anothers work.

We can also arrange to visit websites of artist suggested by a member of the club, this way we can all discuss the artists work on an agreed day of the week.

There can also be a session on Art History - were we pick a period, study and discuss about artists in that particular period in time.

It may be a good idea to get Email addresses of interested members and always send a reminder the day before a meeting is sheduled.

What do you think?

ohh I like it. Let's think of some Forum Names and I'll set them up before I leave for vacation, this way people can get started right away.
I'm thinking....
Art History
and subjects underneath pertaining to the period...

Drawing Classes with subjects underneath such as...
Pencil
Watercolor
Acrlyic
Oil, etc...

Any suggestions would be welcome

A Forum name that comes to mind is Art Class.

What do you think and how soon can it get started?

Okay I started the new topic. If you go to the Main page of the Discussion Forum, you'll see the Art Club section with Art History and Art Class started. We've already got a posting in there for Pencil Techniques. And I'll be posting my notes on Color Theory when I get home tonight. I'm sure I'll be organizing it better as we get more posting into it.
