I always have trouble when the question comes up...what style is your art? Here is my dilema; I love naive style artwork and I feel that I am more intuitive when creating my artwork. I do not want to focus on whether something looks totally real, but rather on my interpretation and feeling about the subject. I like also to create fantasy subjects, such as odd colors for people and animals, or fantasy plants. So.....after you go look, my style is not really cartoon, not really fantasy, not really naive (I have a degree in fine art), not really abstract, what is it!!!????
Please go to either www.jennyrobin.etsy.com to look at an example of a painting...the only one that is there at the moment
or go to www.penpaintpaper.blogspot.com and scroll down to my latest horse painting to look.
sorry, I would upload the picture, but I am not sure how, or what size it must be.
I appreciate any thoughts you have!

Okay, I am trying to add the image, hope it works.
Hi, I like your work! You have self described similarly my style. The Post Impressionists and the Nabis (a sub group of post-I's) tended to adhere to the object but with an abstract, decorative component, depending on the feeling the artist had. You are in good company - Cezanne, Gauguin, Voillard, Bonnard, Denis, AND the payoff for me - Monet's later works. Look at his paintings done during his years at Giverny.
Nice to meet you, fellow Nabis.

Hi David! Nice to meet you also. Thank you for your thoughts! I am admiring your work also...very nice! I looked up Nabis, and found them very interesting! and I intend to look deeper. I also like that you have the Einstein quote on your profile. I have always been in awe of the beautiful and creative mind of Einstein. Look forward to talking with you!

Hi Jen I agree with David's assessment of your style. I would also look into expressionist work for an answer. I think that the fact that you have a style you cannot define is better than have a rigid style. It gives you more freedom to open yourself up to new ideas and techniques that you otherwise may not try.
